Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto; Headquarters:
Minato-ku, Tokyo) and Kokusai Cable Ship Co., Ltd. today announced that on September 24,
2021, they concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on collaborative operation of
cable-laying ships to meet increasing demand for installation of power cables—a key
element of supply chains in the globally expanding offshore wind farm business.

- The KDDI OCEAN LINK, built for submarine cable construction/ maintenance and equipped with the latest cable handling capabilities, plays an active role for submarine cable networks.
- The KDDI CABLE INFINITY with the latest ship-maneuvering and cable-handling equipment carries out installation and maintenance of optical submarine cable networks.
- ROV MARCAS contributes to urgent restoration of submarine cable failure with its capabilities of the cable status survey, localization of failure point, excavation, cutting and reburial.
- Is towed by the cable ship, and is used for a simultaneous operation of laying and burial of submarine cables.
